Spotted from one of Jan Van Riebeek’s ship in 1652 was the last original Skin-hyde Shield Surfer from the blue shores of what was then called Zululand. It was an enlightening moment for everyone in the ship as they all watched the wave give way to the Zulu. Jan Van Riebeek was amazed by this and could only stand there and wave to the Zulu.
